Water ConservationSpring is here. Gardeners are out. Landscaping is being installed. For best plant growth, garden manuals advise watering less often and deep. Small plants can actually be “boiled” right on the stem from too much water in high heat, so avoid planting in the heat of summer! Knowing that heavy water use is likely for yards and gardens . . . CCWD is asking customers to follow voluntary water conservation for outdoor watering. CCWD is required to comply the requirements of the California Urban Water Management Planning Act. The Act requires CCWD to have and maintain an Urban Water Management Plan that must include a water conservation component. Complying with the state’s mandate, we will be providing customers with information and environmentally-friendly ways to make the most efficient use of water. We’ve got some great web-links shown below – do visit some of these sites. CCWD has sufficient water supplies for all customer uses. But our supplies are surface water, and that supply can be affected by very lengthy periods of drought.
