Donations of water

To:  Murphys Residents from Ironstone Vineyards and the Kautz Family

Due to the Darby fire we are all under water restrictions.  We have united as a community to reduce our water usage and are doing a great job.  The Kautz family has scrambled to put our old well at the Bret Harte Center back in service.  This well has been utilized by CDF and other firefighters to fill their trucks to fight the fire.  We are also running the pump in the creek to help with creek flow, which aids the City of Angels and supports the aquatic life in the creek.

We are making this well available to the residents of Murphys for their use.

Effective September 13th, you will be able to fill tanks and containers with this water.  THIS WATER IS NON-POTABLE AND NOT FOR HUMAN USE.  It is available for your use for landscaping or animals.  We will have a hose tap with instructions for use, set up next to the CHP scales located next to the entrance of Bret Harte Center.  Hours of use will be between 8:00am and 6:00pm.  There is no charge for this water.  If you should have any questions regarding this well or the water usage, contact Stephen Kautz at 728-1251 or Randy Frey at 728-1675.  The Kautz Family makes this offer to all our friends and neighbors in the Murphys community.  Thank you for all your efforts!  The Kautz Family
