This plant was updated in 1994/95 at a cost of 2.6 million dollars, funded by a federal clean water modification/replacement grant. It treats the liquid effluent of all the individual septic tanks. The process uses aerobic and anaerobic digestion in circulating sand filters, then ultraviolet disinfection. The liquid is then removed through holding ponds and spray irrigation. The capacity is 58,000 gallons per day (gpd) and the average dry weather flow is 25,000 gpd. |
