Boil Water Advisory - Sheep Ranch 9.5.2026
The town of Sheep Ranch is currently under a Boil Water Advisory due to a water main break. The main transmission line that delivers water from the storage tank to the community has been isolated to allow CCWD crews to safely complete repair work. As a result, all Sheep Ranch customers are affected by this advisory.
CCWD crews are onsite and actively working to repair the damaged transmission line. At this time, the District expects repairs to be completed and water service restored by approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Once repairs are complete and service is restored, CCWD crews will thoroughly flush the water system and collect bacteriological (BacT) water quality samples for laboratory analysis. State drinking water regulations require two consecutive rounds of absent bacteriological samples before the advisory can be lifted and the system returned to normal operation.
Based on the required testing timeline, CCWD currently anticipates being able to lift the Boil Water Advisory on the afternoon of Monday, September 7, 2026, provided all water quality results meet regulatory standards.
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe and customers are notified that the advisory has been lifted.
CCWD appreciates the community's patience and understanding as crews complete repairs and work through the required water quality testing process. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
