CCWD to Celebrate Reach 3A Project Completion with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

The Calaveras County Water District Board of Directors will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday October 25 at Cedar Center, 1225 Oak Circle, Arnold CA 95223. This ceremony will celebrate the completion of the Reach 3A Project, which replaced the main water transmission pipeline through downtown Arnold and is expected to serve the community’s drinking water and fire protection needs for the next 75 years.

This project replaced 20,000 linear feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron transmission pipeline that was built in 1965 and had reached the end of its useful life. The new pipeline begins at the Arnold Cal-Fire Station, runs along Highway 4 and Blagen Road and terminates at CCWD’s Sawmill Tank near White Pines Lake. Funding for this $5.3 million project came from a combination of a $1.378 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), a $2.622 million low-interest loan from USDA and $1.3 million in local matching funds from CCWD’s Capital Renovation and Replacement fund. Construction began in spring 2016.

Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests are invited to join the CCWD Board members for light refreshments.
