Reach 3A Project Update: June 14-30- June 14, 2017

Construction Schedule

June 14-June 16: Crews will be trenching and installing 12-inch ductile iron piping along Dunbar Road. They will also tie in a pressure-reducing valve at the corner of Dunbar and Blagen Roads. Traffic control will be in effect during this work. Once the new section of piping is installed, they will begin testing.

June 20-23: Crews will continue testing the section of pipe recently installed on Dunbar Road between Fir Street and Blagen Road. Traffic control may be in effect during this work.

June 26-30: Crews will tie the new section of 12-inch pipeline on Dunbar Road into the water distribution system on June 26. Between June 27 and June 30, crews will begin trenching and installing pipe along Blagen Road starting at its intersection with Highway 4 and heading northeast. This work will require a full closure of Blagen Road between Highway 4 and Henry Street. One-way traffic control will be in effect one crews move past Henry Street and are working toward the vet clinic.

Project summary

As of June 14, T&S Construction had replaced about 16,000 feet of pipeline and another 3,000 feet remain, and the project is about 85 percent finished. The remaining portions of pipeline that need to be replaced are from Pine Drive through Oak Court to Sequoia Street, and from Fir Street to Dunbar Road and along Blagen Road from it’s intersection with Highway 4 to near the Arnold Library.  Substantial completion of the project is expected in August 2017.
