Water and Sewer Billing: Community Feedback

Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) is exploring potential updates to how water and sewer services are billed and is seeking input from the community.

Today, customers may receive:

  • Water service only
  • Sewer service only
  • Or a combined water and sewer bill

Billing is currently issued every two months (bi-monthly) as a combined bill. While this approach works well for some, it can also create confusion and may present budgeting challenges due to larger, less frequent bills.

CCWD is beginning an early evaluation of potential improvements, including:

  • Separate water and sewer bills
  • Changes to billing frequency (such as monthly options)
  • Alternative approaches, including placement of charges on the property tax roll

At this stage, no decisions have been made. Community input is a critical first step in understanding what is working well and what may be improved.
