Jeffrey Robertson

CCWD Division 3 Director Jeffrey Robertson is a proud California native who first began visiting Calaveras County in 1969. He made Murphys his permanent home in 2007, and retired there full-time in 2018. A former Senior Foreign Service Officer with a 20-year career with the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Robertson held numerous diplomatic positions across the Middle East, Africa, and the Pacific Islands.
His career highlights include serving as the Director, Afghanistan/Pakistan, for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs; Deputy Chief of Mission in Fiji for five Island countries; INL Deputy Director in Kabul, Afghanistan; and Public Affairs Officer for West Africa and the Pacific. He also worked extensively in leadership training, media relations, public diplomacy, financial and grants management, and human resources.
Before his diplomatic service, Robertson served in leadership roles with the Peace Corps, including as Country Director in Micronesia and Associate Director in Fiji. His broad career includes teaching graduate leadership courses at Harvard, serving as Special Assistant to Women World Leaders, Peace Corps Volunteer, co-owning a soil reclamation company, carpenter and later licensed building contractor, and working as a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska.
Robertson holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University's JFK School of Government, a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
Robertson is an active community member in Calaveras County. He served as a Director of the Calaveras County Mentoring Foundation, is currently on the board of Habitat for Humanity Calaveras, is an active member of the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club, and continues to seek meaningful ways to contribute his time and energy to local causes. Robertson enjoys photography, skiing, mountain biking and hiking. He is married to Dr. Annette Robertson; they have three adult children and four grandchildren, two of whom attend schools in our District.
